"Car Park 3", 2009
The series Car Park, Trenchard Street is an investigation into the physical structures that frame a city. There are a total of eight images in the series, all photographed on top of one car park in Bristol city center. This piece of work evolved from a previous project that looked at traces of human activity within the urban environment, both projects investigate the things that often go unnoticed in the city. Size, composition and colour are important components of the series. The small images encourage the viewer to look closer and examine a structure that they would usually ignore. From a distance I wanted the images to appear as traditional landscapes and colour is an important quality of the images to emphasize this.
