This creative media practice course combines video, sound, and interactive multimedia. Students gain production experience in each area and learn how these different media forms interrelate – a crucial part of the course, designed to prepare graduates for working in an industry with rapidly converging technologies. Throughout the course, students work in teams in all practical production projects, assuming different roles and fostering balanced media understanding. Considerable emphasis is placed on visual design, creative expression, and storytelling through media. Graduates go on to join the industry in many roles, ranging from joining the BBC, independent film production companies, post-production houses, and sound studios. Recent awards included a regional heat winner in the 13th Encounters Short Film Festival and the 12th Royal Television Society Student Television Awards.
