Architecture has close connection with the human psyche. We are born with need for shelter, and as children have an innate desire to build things.
From our first set of building blocks through to our first home we define our boundaries. In turn, those boundaries can create tension between comfort and enclosure, or protection and vulnerability, which require a delicate balancing act.
These mini-architectural sculptures reflect my need to build and were inspired by mapping a childhood home; a building with many interlinking rooms, stairwells, and corridors. It had infinite possibilities, yet hidden spaces and stringent boundaries.
